The ambition is to establish a new AiR locality with a large space for working and our own housing.
Since last AiR in 2020, we have establish new connections as well as we continue to work with our existing partners. We will show and communicate your art to the people in this region, and give international artists a beautiful experience, inspiration and fruitful working processes, on the exciting island of Kjerringøy.

This time we are renting Kjerringøy Prestegård for the residency.
Ground floor; 2 high lofted studios to share (we have a ceramic killn and a graphic press).

Prestegård is close to the food-shop, church, school and kindergarten, the old Kjerringøy TradingPost, hotel, harbour and museums. Nature is never far, and marked hiking trails are close.
We anticipate that artists will be inspired by the ethos of the Kjerringøy Land Art Biennale and interact with the natural environment.
We rent a local meeting house were you can arrange courses, in drawing, painting for example, make an exhibition or a performance for the local public.
As we have a farm and have available other spaces for bigger works, as all kind of hand tools and machines for wood and steel.

About the work in order to get the extra support.
We are in communication with Nord Universitet, the university in Bodø, for the students to come here and have workshops with you or for you to holde lectures at the University, if there are themes which fit. We arrange the Artists Talk at the arts venue in Bodø for their public or locally at Kjerringøy for the inhabitants of the penninsula, on local places. Any event will be a collaboration and you will get the help you need in order for it to be suited to you as an artist. You can give an artist talk, hold a workshop, give a lecture.
This programme responds to the individual artistic practice of the resident, and preparatory skype meetings between the programme manager and the artist can be conducted in preparation for the residency.
At the working area or other local spaces, we can arrange for exhibition, performance, show film, photos or you can arrange courses as you choose (no special fee). We will present you to Bodø Art Association Gallery.
