Artist in Residence Kjerringøy

   
AiR Kjerringøy has selected these artists for the period 17th October - 27th November and have the pleasure to present; 
Elin Sundstrøm, SE, Lise Seier Petersen, DK og Timo Viialainen, FI

The artists at AiR Kjerringøy work on their own projects and give workshops to students at Kjerringøy school and artist talk at Bodin Upper Secondary School.  They hold an artist talk at Noua in Bodø. Information further down the page.

Sundström er en materialbaserad konstnär med en MFA från Konstfack, Stockholm 2021. Med lera som huvudmaterial arbetar hon platsspecifikt i nära dialog med landskapet, ofta vid olika vattendrag. Hennes praktik omfattar Land Art, skulptur, installationer och performance. Sundström blev vald till årets favorit 2021 av Konsthantverkarna, Stockholm. 2022 blev hon tilldelad ettårigt arbetsstipendium av Konstnärsnämnden.

Seier Petersen er uddannet keramiker og cand. mag. i Kunst-historie. Udover egen praksis indgår hun ofte i samarbejds-projekter, påtager sig kurateringsopgaver og er underviser på Aarhus Kunstakademi. Hun har bl.a. modtaget arbejdslegater og projektstøtte fra Statens Kunstfond og er medlem af Kunstner-samfundet, m.fl.
Artist talken introducerer Seier Petersens praksis, der befinder sig i krydsfeltet mellem materiale, håndværk og refleksionen.

Villalainen is a graduate from the Academy of Fine Arts Helsinki in 22, but has presented performances since 2011 in 20 countries. He makes multidisciplinary works in the fields of visual-, performance- and sound art. His current work often takes the form of conceptual sculptures. He is interested in prelinguistic experience, and the contradictory concepts found in the different environments we live in. He will make a performance and an artist talk. 
He holds 12-month grant from the Finnish Cultural Foundation.

AiR Kjerringøy Høst 2022, 29th August to 10th October

​National and International artist are coming to Kjerringøy. They will reside at Kjerringøy Prestegård and work with their own projects. But they will also give workshops to pupils at Kjerringøy School, lecture at Bodin VGS and artists talk at Kjerringøy Prestegård 29.9, kl. 19.00

​Hanne Thyholdt

Hanne Thyholdt bor og arbeider i Lindesnes. Hun har hovedfag i vev fra Statens Høyskole i kunsthåndverk og design i Bergen. 
Hennes motivasjonen ligger i tilegnelse av kunnskap, eksperimentering, erfaring, videreutvikling og videreformidling.
Hun jobber med store installasjonspregede flak/tekstiler, hvor ulike naturmaterialer og teknikker blir utforsket. 
Temaet er ofte forgjengelighet/forfall, skjørhet kontra styrke, det usynlige mot det synlige, og spenningsfeltene i mellom.
 
Hun har stilt ut i inn og utland, bl.a. på NK-årsutstilling, landsdelsutstillinger og i Kunstnerforbundet. Hun har mottatt en rekke stipend. 
 
Hun er medlem av Norske Kunsthåndverkere, Norske Tekstilkunstnere og Norske Billedkunstnere,

Kaja Mærk Egeberg, b 1989,

Kaja Merk Egeberg is a performing artist from Molde. She holds a BA in Acting from Norwegian Theatre Academy, Fredrikstad (2018). Her work emerges between the near and the intangible with a practice based in movement, vocalising and spatial strategies.                                              
 
Hazel Barstow, b.1986 Trondheim,

Hazel Barstow is a visual artist and scenographer based in Oslo. Common for her work is storytelling and visual imagery using everyday materials, objects and sites. In her works the unspectacular meets the spectacular through the space of imagination and playful material transformation. 

At Kjerringøy we will dive into the research project TREVL. We will deepen our shared interests in duplication and identity, and incorporate handcraft techniques and thematics around symbiosis, claustrophobia, and circularity into our work. We have previously worked together on other selfmade performances.

Linn Rebekka Åmo, Billedkunstner fra Bodø holdt foredrag ved Bodin Vgs.

Linn Rebekka Åmo er både basert i Bodø og kommer fra Bodø. Hun har Praktisk Pedagogisk Utdanning ved Kunsthøgskolen i Bergen, Master ved kunstakademiet i Trondheim og Bachelor fra kunsthøgskolen i Bergen avd. Kunstakademiet. Til å begynne med var det fotografiet som var hennes uttrykk, men det har gått over fra maleri til tekstil.
Linn er en aktiv ung kunstner på vei opp. Hun har stilt ut aktivt i inn og utland, blitt kjøpt inn av både Trondhjem og Nordland kommune samt noen utsmykningsoppdrag allerede.  
De siste utstillingene hennes er Contextile 2022 Contemporary Textile Art Biennial. Portugal, Trøndelagsutstillingen og i 2022 Årsutstillingen 2021 Kristiansand.
Hun er nå medlem av Norske Billedkunstnere, Norske Kunsthåndverkere og Norske Tekstilkunstnere.

Conveying art processes


The AiR stated wit Meike Zylmann, local artists living at Tverlandet from Germany learned us how to capture the Northern Light wit a lens. The artists themselves have held artists talks in Bodø kunstforening and Jason Lim had a lecture at Bodin Vgs.
​The artist opens their workshops several weekends for the public.
